Which WoT Character or Scene should I paint next?

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 30, 2013, 6:05 AM
Facebook l Gallery l dA Portfolio l Watch Me l Note Me

As most of you have probably noticed, I have taken it upon myself to work on fan art for the Wheel of Time series. I am hoping this will keep me inspired to keep pushing and learning so my art can improve.

So...what characters would you like to see next, and more specifically what scene's in the books. I have only read up to book 6 so I am sort of behind on the curve :(

Feel free to go all out on your ideas (the more descriptions I get the more I can envision your idea)...if I can remotely do it, I will give it my best shot. Hoping to get feedback from some of you!

How about the scene where Matrim fights the Gholam, and Nalesean is killed?  Or the scene in the fires of Heaven where mat is relaxing after the battle, and the Aiel and what becomes the Band of the Red Hand are celebrating?  I've never seen anyone else do those, and you're skilled enough to do an incredible version of either.

Hey, I just found your profile, can´t believe I didn´t see it before when fishing for fan art :D (or maybe I have and now I don´t remember...)
Wish I could draw like you, WOT is one of my favourite things ever and sometimes I wish I could pay it homage with my hands like that. Closes I ever got to this was a poem, about two weeks before the release of the final book.
Don´t know if you´ve read it already, if you have, then you must have plenty of ideas for drawings. If you haven´t, then forgive me this little spoiler and watch out for the name of Androl Genhald. I have a feeling you´ll want to paint him :)
Just added you to my watch list.  :la:

You should try the scene where Rand and Logain are opening Death Gates over the Trolloc army.  This scene has always stuck in my mind because it shows the awesome power the Aes Sedai could wield before the Breaking

Thank you very much for the request! I have not read that far into the books yet. I stopped at book 11, but I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for the scene you described :)

Something involving Moghedien, maybe? There are a number of powerful scenes with her, particularly the part where she's first introduced and takes Nynaeve and Elayne by surprise. Lanfear has a bad habit of stealing the spotlight from all the other female Forsaken. Anyway, I really enjoyed perusing the gallery; this is some great art.

Thank you very much for the comment and request! Yea, I agree with you about Moghedien not getting much attention. I have been planning on paint a scene with her, but have not come around to it yet. I was thinking of the scene where she had a stand off with Nynaeve and was trapped in mid air.

How about the scene in book 1 where Rand sees Logain being brought through Caemlyn? I really liked the description of Logain as "A king in every inch of him!" I'd love to see that in your style.

I have always thought about painting that scene, I just shy away because it involves lots of buildings, people and what not. I will have to branch out and start painting more elaborate settings at some point. that is definitely on my list. Thank you very much for the suggestion!

These are absolutely amazing!

You know what else would be amazing, if you're still doing these...
- spoilerific, though... - A Path of Daggers -

Rand's battle against the Seanchan in Altara, going nuts whilst wielding Callandor, screaming,
Lighting strikin'; trees burnin'; bodies flyin'; storm stormin'...
That scene was so vivid as I read it; you could do it looking up at Rand, wielding Callandor above his head in both arms; face contorted in rage, and whatnot...
Your art is so wonderful in the personality and emotion behind every pair of eyes, and so I suggest this crazy Rand scene..

Rand's battle with the Seanchan in Altara - where he's wielding Callandor, going nuts on the Power, screaming,

That scene was so vivid for me.. Just looking up at his face contorted in rage.
Anyway, your work so far is amazing, and I suggest this because of the personality/emotion conveyed in each of your works.
