As most of you have probably noticed, I have taken it upon myself to work on fan art for the Wheel of Time series. I am hoping this will keep me inspired to keep pushing and learning so my art can improve.
So...what characters would you like to see next, and more specifically what scene's in the books. I have only read up to book 6 so I am sort of behind on the curve
Feel free to go all out on your ideas (the more descriptions I get the more I can envision your idea)...if I can remotely do it, I will give it my best shot. Hoping to get feedback from some of you!
How about the scene where Matrim fights the Gholam, and Nalesean is killed? Or the scene in the fires of Heaven where mat is relaxing after the battle, and the Aiel and what becomes the Band of the Red Hand are celebrating? I've never seen anyone else do those, and you're skilled enough to do an incredible version of either.
Hey, I just found your profile, can´t believe I didn´t see it before when fishing for fan art (or maybe I have and now I don´t remember...) Wish I could draw like you, WOT is one of my favourite things ever and sometimes I wish I could pay it homage with my hands like that. Closes I ever got to this was a poem, about two weeks before the release of the final book. Don´t know if you´ve read it already, if you have, then you must have plenty of ideas for drawings. If you haven´t, then forgive me this little spoiler and watch out for the name of Androl Genhald. I have a feeling you´ll want to paint him Just added you to my watch list.
You should try the scene where Rand and Logain are opening Death Gates over the Trolloc army. This scene has always stuck in my mind because it shows the awesome power the Aes Sedai could wield before the Breaking
Something involving Moghedien, maybe? There are a number of powerful scenes with her, particularly the part where she's first introduced and takes Nynaeve and Elayne by surprise. Lanfear has a bad habit of stealing the spotlight from all the other female Forsaken. Anyway, I really enjoyed perusing the gallery; this is some great art.
Thank you very much for the comment and request! Yea, I agree with you about Moghedien not getting much attention. I have been planning on paint a scene with her, but have not come around to it yet. I was thinking of the scene where she had a stand off with Nynaeve and was trapped in mid air.
I have always thought about painting that scene, I just shy away because it involves lots of buildings, people and what not. I will have to branch out and start painting more elaborate settings at some point. that is definitely on my list. Thank you very much for the suggestion!
You know what else would be amazing, if you're still doing these... - spoilerific, though... - A Path of Daggers -
Rand's battle against the Seanchan in Altara, going nuts whilst wielding Callandor, screaming, "I AM RAND AL'THOR! I AM THE DRAGON REBORN!" Lighting strikin'; trees burnin'; bodies flyin'; storm stormin'... That scene was so vivid as I read it; you could do it looking up at Rand, wielding Callandor above his head in both arms; face contorted in rage, and whatnot... Anyway, Your art is so wonderful in the personality and emotion behind every pair of eyes, and so I suggest this crazy Rand scene..

Rand's battle with the Seanchan in Altara - where he's wielding Callandor, going nuts on the Power, screaming, "I AM RAND AL'THOR! I AM THE DRAGON REBORN!" Lightning strikin'; bodies flyin'; trees burnin'; storm stormin'... That scene was so vivid for me.. Just looking up at his face contorted in rage. Anyway, your work so far is amazing, and I suggest this because of the personality/emotion conveyed in each of your works.
I actually just finished path of daggers and that is a scene I personally want to paint myself as well! Thank you very much for the kind words. I have been so busy with work....I haven't had anytime to paint. Hopefully things will change over the Xmas break.
Lol...no worries! I am always happy to hear from people who enjoy my art even if it is months after I made a post! I have been wanting to paint something between Elayne and Rand but I have not yet read a scene I feel inspired to paint. I will keep reading and hope something comes up! Thanks a lot for all the kind words!
You deserve all of them, your art is so awesome, and I haven't either, it's funny they only met once in the first book (I think) and yet in the second book Elayne is always saying how she wants him there and I find it kind of ridiculous lol
Rand is Ta'veren...people do things they would probably never have done just by being close to him. Ta'veren's have a very strong influence on the pattern and everyone around them so sometimes people just can't help but behave odd or get locked into their faith In this case Elayne falling madly in love with Rand at first sight lol
Hehe, Rand and Elayne Art would be cool except there has hardly been much time with two of them together. When they finally meet up and you know...well, I felt like it was very anti-climactic. I guess I expected a lot more build up versus..."Everyone else has slept with you and now it is my turn!...pretty please"
I loved the first book so much, till now I think that is one of my favorites. I love the unknown, I love heroes embarking on a journey, I love innocence lost and recovered. I was looking for an epic adventure to read and get away from this world when I am not working and that book brought it to me. I have lost a lot of the enchantment that series originally had due to some pretty slow writing and irrelevant sub-plots in-between. Rand is my least favorite male character and I hardly care to read about him. I enjoy reading the Mat chapters though. His personality and the situations he comes across make him the best IMHO.
That being said, the scene about Taim and Ran was a pretty emotional one that I wish to capture. That whole flight from two rivers and the unknown about Aes Sedai is what brought me into this series in the first place This was a shoddy attempt at capturing a glimpse of that period fav.me/d65b5bj. Not the best, but I hope to revisit that entire period when I am much better and churn out some cool scenes.
Another great scene would be Morraine sinking the ferry once they crossed the river.
Pssh shoddy, that picture was one of my favorites, I felt chills when I saw the hooded rider XD And Rand is one of my favorites, I really like the three main characters, him, Perrin and Mat, they're all so well thought out. And I really wish that there were more series like this, Wheel of Time has even inspired me to revisit an old story that I started a few years ago but it was deleted. Wheel of Time is the best
Not sure if you've read this far, so I'll just say, wielding the Choedan Kal. I feel like I'm adding quite a lot of scenes to your queue. I'm just excited for someone to finally be doing some good fan art of WOT.
Haha! Don't worry...you are not adding too many scenes to my queue The more scenes I have the more options and ideas I can explore. I have not read that far unfortunately, but I am sure it will ring a bell as soon as I get to it I will be sure to soak up the chapter so I can draw it as accurately as possible.
You have just GOT to paint Nynaeve being cradled by the large oak that used to be the Green Man at the end of Eye of the World. I thought it was so cool and touching that it grew to create a bed for the wounded lady.
Love your take on Moiraine. That's exactly how I imagined her. You've definitely captured that cool Aes Sedai serenity in that one. Would be cool to see one of her and Lan fighting off the Trollocs in Emond's Field.
Would LOVE to see the fight between Nynaeve and Mogheiden in Tanchico with weaves of saidar flowing everywhere. Also would like to see one of Birgitte Silverbow. Ba'alzamon and Rand fighting in the sky over Falme.
Hi and thanks for the request! I will definitely have a couple of Rand, only problem is I am not able to paint faces that look the same over and over again. I am not that good at mastering features and the facial structure, so a lot of times there will be slight differences in the look when the angles are changed. One of the scenes I want to paint is Rand falling off the Ledge when he first met Elayne. I think it has the potential for a cool painting based on how I pictured it in my head.
I am constantly taking requests and ideas for paintings! Getting to them is proving to be the more difficult task lol. I will work on every request on my queue, only a matter of time at this point Thanks a lot for the request and also for the support!
I'd love to see your take on Nynaeve! Wouldn't mind seeing a good one of her in the Two Rivers - I've seen loads of other works of her dressed in silks and wearing the ki'sain. Would be nice to have a nice image of the good ol' Wisdom.
I'd also like to see another Perrin - I liked your last one, but since he's normally so quiet in the books, I think it'd be good to see a more serene blacksmith.
Finally - Egwene. I haven't seen an Egwene that matched how I pictured her in my head, so it'd be nice to see how you create her!
Great ideas!! I think that painting them in the Two Rivers would be a brilliant idea! Right before their youth and innocence is taken away! I have a painting of Egwene, but I plan on making multiple of each character although this time in actual scenes from the books versus simple portraits.
